Which JoJo Stand Is The Best? (Golden Wind)

“Golden Wind” marks the third JoJo Part to include Stands in their various forms, and this was arguably the wildest, weirdest crop of abilities yet.

I laid out my rules for ranking Stands in my Stardust Crusaders list, but the general gist is that I’ve ranked each Stand out of ten in five different categories (Power, Range, Intelligence, Design and Cool). Let’s get to it!

Before we begin, you can check out some of my related blog posts below:

30 – Mr. President (Coco Jumbo)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
1136415

The weakest Golden Wind Stand by far was one that I didn’t realise was classed as a Stand in the first place – Coco Jumbo (the turtle) and its pocket dimension.

It has no Power, a miniscule Range, the Intelligence of a turtle, but at least the shiny exterior gem and comfortable interior decor were Designed well.

29 – Talking Head (Tizzano)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
2165418

Talking Head’s lying ability is absolutely useless on its own, so thank goodness Tizzano had the basic Intelligence to pair up with Clash.

Other than Mr. President and Baby Face, this would be the least Cool Stand to have. It does next to nothing!

28 – Soft Machine (Mario Zucchero)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
4375423

Soft Machine can deflate enemies and shove them into small spaces. Okay

Maybe Powerful if it can catch someone off-guard, and the disguised boat was an Intelligent plan, but otherwise this Stand was forgettable.

27 – Black Sabbath (Polpo)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
6327523

Black Sabbath was billed as the first major Stand threat, and its fight against Koichi and Giorno was an early spectacle, but it’s not an inherently Powerful Stand.

Its ability to dance between shadows is Cool, but its only truly effective when it comes up against a non-Stand user.

26 – Baby Face (Melone)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
61034124

If Baby Face was my Stand I think I’d hang up my villainous boots forever.

It has a near-infinite Range and packs a decent punch, but otherwise this is the least Cool Stand in the Part.

25 – Little Feet (Formaggio)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
6366324

On paper, a Stand that makes your enemies shrink is pretty good. The problem is that Formaggio needed to shrink his enemies to beyond infant-size to even stand a chance of beating them.

Little Feet isn’t particularly Powerful or Intelligent either.

24 – Moody Blues (Leone Abbacchio)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
3486526

There’s always one member of the team (usually Joseph Joestar) who has a Stand that’s incredibly weak compared to the others. In Golden Wind, that mark of shame goes to Leone Abbacchio.

Moody Blues has its moments, and Abbacchio proves himself to be a smart cookie, but it has no combat applications.

23 – Man in the Mirror (Illuso)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
8267528

If Man in the Mirror can pull its target into a mirror dimension, it’s very Powerful. But that’s a big “if”.

Not much more to say beyond that – this is an average, early-season Stand.

22 – Spice Girl (Trish Una)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
5377628

There was a lot of build-up for Trish’s Stand, but in the end Spice Girl was a little disappointing.

The elastic ability has a small Range and isn’t very Powerful, but it’s a unique Design choice that I can appreciate.

21 – Rolling Stones (Scolippi)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
51074430

The final Stand in Golden Wind, and one of the hardest to rank when compared to other Stands.

Rolling Stones either predicts the future or makes it a certainty, I’m not entirely sure. Its Range seems infinite, so I wish its simple Design was a bit Cooler.

20 – Beach Boy (Pesci)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
71045531

Another Stand with seemingly infinite Range, but Pesci’s Beach Boy actually has some combat applications.

It’s not the Coolest or most Powerful Stand on its own, but the combination with Grateful Dead made for a lethal pairing.

19 – Oasis (Secco)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
7756631

Oasis is also an averagely Powerful Stand who played second fiddle to a more lethal ally, but I think Secco’s ability was slightly Cooler across the board than Pesci’s.

Apart from the mud-eating. That wasn’t so Cool.

18 – Notorious B.I.G (Carne)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
10517831

An unkillable, posthumous Stand that chases victims travelling at hundreds of miles per hour? That’s the Power and Cool scores sorted.

Since Notorious B.I.G is autonomous and easily tricked, however, it gets the lowest Intelligence score possible.

17 – Silver Chariot (Jean Pierre Polnareff)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
6487732

The loveable Frenchman returned in Golden Wind, except his ability is quite bare-bones compared to the insanity going on around him.

Polnareff is as sharp as ever, and I still love Silver Chariot’s Design, but JoJo Stands have become a different beast entirely in the years since Stardust Crusaders.

16 – Epitaph (Diavolo / Doppio)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
6776733

Like with Yoshikage Kira’s “Sheer Heart Attack”, Diavolo gets a secondary ability that compliments his main one nicely.

Epitaph’s foresight ability isn’t particularly Powerful on its own, but when paired with King Crimson’s time-altering ability they become near-unstoppable.

15 – Echoes (Koichi Hirose)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
7487733

Koichi, like Polnareff, is another returning character who gets completely outclassed immediately.

Echoes (Act Three) has decent Power and Intelligence, but its small Range ultimately makes it weak within Golden Wind.

14 – Kraft Work (Sale)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
7786634

Early enemy Stands are almost always pushovers, so I was surprised by how formidable Kraft Work was.

The ability to lock objects in place led to some clever applications, and Mista was genuinely tested in his first solo outing.

13 – Chariot Requiem (Jean Pierre Polnareff)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
9918734

It was said that the Stand Arrow would change a Stand’s abilities, but I wasn’t expecting Chariot Requiem to be so different from its predecessor.

It doesn’t seem Intelligent enough to make calculated, organic decisions, but its widespread Power of body-swapping chaos made it extremely formidable.

12 – Clash (Squalo)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
7866734

In hindsight, it’s quite funny how much more powerful Clash was compared to Talking Head. Squalo should never have wasted his time with a second-rate user like Tizzano.

The puddle-hopping shark has a Cool appeal, a long Range and a Powerful bite. Not bad at all!

11 – Purple Haze (Pannacotta Fugo)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
96210734

I’ve been quite picky with my Design scores for the past three Parts, but from the moment I laid eyes on Purple Haze I knew it would be my first 10 out of 10.

Fugo’s poison Stand is insanely Powerful and Cool (poison knuckles that burst on impact? Are you kidding me?!?), so it’s a shame Fugo could barely control this ravenous beast of a Stand.

10 – Sticky Fingers (Bruno Buicciarati)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
8597837

Into the top ten, and now we’re getting to some seriously powerful Stands.

Bucciarati proved his Cool and Intelligence time and time again, and his Stand Sticky Fingers was always a highlight whenever its zippers surfaced.

9 – Aerosmith (Narancia Ghirga)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
71077738

I’m as surprised as you are that Aerosmith landed this high in the ranking.

It’s consistently good in all categories, and the huge Range made Narancia an invaluable support player of the crew.

8 – Sex Pistols (Guido Mista)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
7986838

Hol Horse had a rudimentary gun in Stardust Crusaders, but Mista’s Sex Pistols are a different breed entirely.

Their sentience and teamwork allowed for some long-Range takedowns, and those takedowns were always really Cool.

7 – White Album (Ghiaccio)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
9588838

The second-to-last member of the Hitman Team proved his lethality almost immediately.

White Album’s ice abilities were some of the Coolest and most Powerful of the Part, and Ghiaccio himself used said powers in Intelligent ways.

6 – The Grateful Dead (Prosciutto)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
9987740

A Stand that gradually ages its victims doesn’t seem very Cool on paper, but the Grateful Dead fight on the train ended up being one of the highlights of the season.

It’s Powerful, comfortably covered a Range of the entire train, and Prosciutto was one Intelligent stronzo.

5 – King Crimson (Diavolo)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
10399940

Just when I thought Dio’s time-stopping ability was as Powerful as it gets, King Crimson comes along with the ability to erase time itself. At least, I think that’s what the ability was. It’s a little unclear.

Other than the limited Range, Diavolo was easily one of the deadliest forces I’ve yet seen in JoJo.

4 – Gold Experience (Giorno Giovanna)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
95108941

Giorno Giovanna is the smartest character of Golden Wind, no doubt about it, and pairing that with his Powerful Stand leads to guaranteed L’s for any enemy.

Gold Experience is a dominating force in all of its fights, but like King Crimson it doesn’t have a noteworthy Range.

3 – Green Day (Cioccolata)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
91088742

A deadly, unstoppable poison Stand that takes over an entire city. Green Day’s ability seemed a little broken at first.

It’s not a Stand I would personally want to have as it seems a bit too chaotic, but otherwise Green Day is a perfect mass-killing machine. But if you’re looking for a more personal, 1-on-1 killer …

2 – Metallica (Risotto Nero)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
9898842

I can see why Risotto Nero was the leader of the Hitman Team.

Metallica’s metal-manipulating power looks awesome and is almost unstoppable – even King Crimson would’ve been beaten if not for a bit of circumstantial luck!

1 – Gold Experience Requiem (Giorno Giovanna)

POWERRANGEINT.DESIGNCOOLTOTAL
105109943

Remind me to never get on Giorno Giovanna’s bad side.

I’m not entirely sure what Gold Experience Requiem’s ability even is, but I do know that he made the almighty Diavolo come across as a weakling – and look Cool while doing it.

Aaaaand that’s my list! Until I eventually reach Stone Ocean, you can check out some of my latest blog posts below:

As an Ace Attorney defense lawyer, it’s up to Phoenix and friends to put their complete trust in their clients until the bitter end. Needless to say, some clients are more worth defending than others. I’ll be ranking all thirty-three defendants in the series. It’s worth noting that I’m only ranking them based on their…
