If you’re British, chances are you’ve heard “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” in one way or another – and there’s also a very good chance that it’s one of your favourites.
This is Oasis at their very best, and some of the songs here entered the public consciousness and never disappeared – let’s rank all the songs!

Meh
12 – The Swamp Song – Version 1
A quick interlude track that has some hints of song in it, but it’s not worth your time.
11 – The Swamp Song – Version 2
Another interlude that plays right before the closer. It has slightly more going for it than Version 1, but I still don’t care for it.
OK
10 – Hey Now!
My least favourite of the proper songs, “Hey Now!” has never really stuck with me.
It doesn’t have a musical or lyrical hook that I can get behind, and the melodies are all quite boring and uninspired. Very filler.
Good
9 – Hello
Usually an album as iconic as this will have a banger of an opening track, but “Hello” is more middling than bombastic.
It does a good job of introducing you to the Britpop style, and Liam Gallagher’s vocals are already stand-out, but there have been better first tracks in music history.
8 – Morning Glory
Again, this isn’t a title track befitting of the album’s prestige, but it’s still pretty good.
“Morning Glory” is one of the most energetic songs on the album, and I especially love the frantic guitar riffs that sound like sirens.
7 – Roll With It
“Roll With It” is one of the most Oasis-y Oasis songs they ever did.
The riffs are simple, the lyrics and vocals are catchy but safe, but the whole package is fun enough to stick in your head.
6 – Some Might Say
One of my favourite choruses on the album, and I love the call and response in the vocals.
Great
5 – She’s Electric
The lyrics can be a little tacky at points, but “She’s Electric” is a fun ride from start to finish.
It has a sort of acoustic / folk feel that I wish Oasis did more often, with some of the most Beatles-esque melodies you’ll ever hear.
4 – Wonderwall
Before you crucify me for putting “Wonderwall” outside the top three, I want you to know that it’s a fantastic ballad that I always jam out to when it comes on the radio – the pre-choruses especially are a highlight of the album.
That being said, it’s definitely the most overrated song on the album. The melodies are very simple and drawn-out, and a lot of it feels under-produced and repetitive.
3 – Cast No Shadow
An absolutely gorgeous track that gets nowhere near the level of recognition it deserves.
“Cast No Shadow” is Oasis at their laid-back, melodic best, and some of the vocal harmonies are exceptional. If it wasn’t for the fact the verses keep repeating themselves, this would be in the “Amazing” tier.
All-Time Great
2 – Don’t Look Back In Anger
A rare Noel Gallagher vocal feature, and I absolutely love it.
“Don’t Look Back In Anger” is everything I wanted “Wonderwall” to be – an uproarious, feel-good hit that boasts some creative musical ideas and an intensely catchy chorus.
1 – Champagne Supernova
There are times when I listen to the entirety of this album just to get to its final song.
“Champagne Supernova” is easily one of the greatest closers in music history, with a build-up that erupts into a glorious few minutes of sonic perfection.
Aaand that’s my list. You can check out some of my latest blog posts below:

“PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid’s Curse” – REVIEW
2023’s “PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries Of Honjo” came as quite the surprise to all visual novel fans. In a year full of incredible games, it still managed to cement itself as one of the best, most underrated, most unpredictable stories of recent times.
