Rick & Morty Season 6 finally dropped on Netflix, which means I can give my thoughts on each individual episode!
This was a more consistent season than the last couple of outings, but you can tell the golden age is mostly behind us. How would I rate every episode?

10 – Bethic Twinstinct (Ep 3)
Rating: C
The worst episode of the season by a wide margin, but it was more boring than bad.
“Bethic Twinstinct” has two plots that I didn’t like – Beth falling in love with herself and Morty’s “realistic” gaming console. It’s not an abomination of an episode like we’ve seen in the past couple of seasons, but I wanted more jokes.
9 – A Rick in King Mortur’s Mort (Ep 9)
Rating: C+
If it wasn’t for the bombshell reveal in Episode 10, “A Rick in King Mortur’s Mort” would’ve been the most skippable episode.
I didn’t really care about the Knights of the Sun and the galactic civil war that followed, and the whole thing felt both overblown and underdeveloped. I should’ve realised that Rick’s new supportive streak was a bad omen …
8 – Analyze Piss (Ep 8)
Rating: C+
A lot of people had this as one of their favourites of the season, but I didn’t really see the appeal.
I love how Rick takes a more introspective stance across “Analyze Piss”, and that suicide scene was particularly harrowing, but the main plotline of Jerry becoming a superhero fell flat for me.
7 – JuRicksic Mort (Ep 6)
Rating: B-
Dinosaurs decide that they want to rule earth again, and it’s up to Rick to make sure they leave for good. Sure?
It’s not the boldest, or funniest, or even the most engaging episode, but some of the individual jokes make it alright.
6 – Rick: A Mort Well Lived (Ep 2)
Rating: B-
I love how the life simulation game from Season 2 makes a return, and all of the parts following Rick as he tries to save Morty are good, but the Summer stuff was a let down.
Her Die Hard call-backs get really stale after a while, and the entire plotline feels like a parody of what Rick & Morty should be.
5 – Ricktional Mortpoons Rickmas Mortcation (Ep 10)
Rating: B
“Ricktional Mortpoons Rickmas Mortcation” was a decent finale, albeit fairly underwhelming.
The Rick robot twist was cool, and the lightsaber stuff was alright, but it’s nowhere near as bold or bombastic as most of the other season finales.
4 – Full Meta JackRick (Ep 7)
Rating: B
I like it when Rick and Morty fully embraces the meta humour, and while “Full Meta JackRick” could get ridiculous at times I was still entertained.
It was cool to see some returning characters from the Season 4 meta episode, and I loved the battle against the plot devices.
3 – Solaricks (Ep 1)
Rating: B+
Season 5 ended with a helluva cliff-hanger, so I was eagerly anticipating “Solaricks” to see how the writers would resolve it. Space Beth saves them within a few seconds. Oh well.
Despite the underwhelming resolution, the rest of the episode fired on all cylinders and was one of the funniest of the season.
2 – Final DeSmithation (Ep 5)
Rating: B+
The first half of “Final DeSmithation” felt like a standard Rick & Morty episode, but once the action began I was hooked.
The “fortune cookies are guaranteed to come true” premise is fully realised, and that climactic fight scene is a highlight of the season.
1 – Night Family (Ep 4)
Rating: A-
My favourite episode of the season is quite small-scale and family-focussed, a bit like the early seasons of the show. Maybe that’s why “Night Family” stood out to me.
The night bodies becoming self-aware leads to some genuinely creepy scenes, and the battle where they keep waking up and knocking each other out was a fantastic set-piece of slapstick humour.
Season Rating: B
Season 6 was far more consistent than the last couple, but the lack of truly stand-out episodes means it’s on the weaker side of Rick & Morty seasons.
