It’s Always Sunny – Season 13 Episodes Ranked

Following on from the surprisingly great Season 12, this season felt underwhelming in nearly every department. The lack of Dennis hurts it considerably, and the episodes with him in tended to be the better ones by default.

It’s not all doom and gloom though – how would I rank every episode?

9 – The Gang Beats Boggs: Ladies Reboot

Rating: D

“The Gang Beats Boggs: Ladies Reboot” is just a really unfunny jab at masculinity, with lots of the gross-out humour that I despise.

It’s ironic, since they were parodying female reboots that were worse yet they managed to do just that.

8 – Charlie’s Home Alone / The Gang Wins the Big Game

Rating: C-

If I was to rate both parts separately, “Charlie’s Home Alone” would be a D- and “The Gang Wins the Big Game” would be either a B- or a C+.

The first part is terrible, easily one of the worst episodes in Sunny history, but the second part salvages it with some heart-warming moments. That finale nearly brought a tear to my eye, and I don’t even watch American sports!

7 – The Gang Solves the Bathroom Problem

Rating: B-

Not the best in the “Gang Solves” series, but “The Gang Solves the Bathroom Problem” is a decent attempt at tackling the real-world issue.

It’s just not as funny as I remembered it being, and only a couple of jokes made me chuckle.

6 – The Gang Makes Paddy’s Great Again

Rating: B-

A bit of a weak season opener compared to some of the classics we’ve had before, and the overall premise of “The Gang Makes Paddy’s Great Again” never quite gets going.

The episode takes a turn once the Dennis doll is introduced, though, and that inanimate object saves it. Proof that Glenn Howerton is the star of the show, even when it’s just one of his sex dolls on screen.

5 – The Gang Does a Clip Show

Rating: B

A clip episode done right, “The Gang Does a Clip Show” highlights all the classic moments whilst still putting a Sunny spin on it.

The first half where it’s just clips is a bit boring, but once the Inception-esque shenanigans start it really gets good. The Seinfeld bit is one of the best scenes of the whole season.

4 – The Gang Escapes

Rating: B

Compared to the Boggs reboot, “The Gang Escapes” is an actually funny jab at masculinity.

The guys all messing around while Dee is locked in a room was great, and the council meeting / chewing gum combo was a master stroke.

3 – Mac Finds His Pride

Rating: B+

Never has a Sunny episode hit quite as hard as “Mac Finds His Pride”.

That final dance scene, and Frank learning to accept Mac for what he is, never fail to well up the emotions within me. If the first half of the episode had been a little stronger / funnier, this would have been an unbelievable season finale.

2 – The Gang Gets New Wheels

Rating: A-

There are two absolute classics in the middle of Season 13, and “The Gang Gets New Wheels” feels about as classic as you can get.

Every sub-plot is fantastic, and I especially liked the Mac and Charlie beating up kids scene. The last part in the Range Rover could’ve easily been the finale to the entire show.

1 – Time’s Up for the Gang

Rating: A-

One of the best written episode of Sunny, “Time’s Up for the Gang” is an example of a real-world issue handled perfectly.

Every character gets their moments of glorious depravity, and the ending where Dennis reveals his master plan made it all gel together in the best way. An episode that will be talked about forever.

Season Rating: C+

This season had a couple of the best Sunny episodes ever, but otherwise it’s just a very passable selection of gags and goofs.

Let’s look at the stats for the season:

  • 2A (22%)
  • 5B (56%)
  • 1C (11%)
  • 1D (11%)

And the stats for the series so far:

  • 36A (26%)
  • 74B (54%)
  • 24C (17%)
  • 3D (2%)
  • 1E (1%)

Shadow Of The Erdtree (Elden Ring DLC) Areas Ranked

I recently ranked the “Elden Ring” (base game) areas based on their content, fun, aesthetic and replayability, and now I’ll do exactly the same thing for the ginormous DLC. I’ve played through the “Shadow of the Erdtree” DLC twice now, and both times I was blown away by the world design and the beauty of…

About Me: Video Games

I’m hopping on a recent trend for this one – I’ve seen some people fill out an “About Me” grid for their favourite videogames, talking about the best soundtrack, favourite protagonist, most underrated game etc. I want to give these twenty questions a go (based on my personal tastes, of course), but I’ve given myself…
